For centuries, elevated wooden platforms were used to protect dried fish and game meat from bears, wolverines, and other animals. Borrowing this Native tradition, many Alaskan pioneers constructed a storage cabin on stilts, or "cache," even before building a place to live.
Over the years we have published three versions of our cookbook, A Cache of Recipes. As each season brings new cooks and new ingredients to work with our recipes evolve. With our cookbook inventory dwindling, we decided to go digital.
