North Face Lodge

In 1957 I staked out a five-acre homesite claim...on the tundra alongside my old friend and grayling-dinner provider, Moose Creek. The site was just north of Wonder Lake and had a fine view of Denali's crest.

For the past 33 years, we have greatly enjoyed welcoming North Face Lodge guests into the heart of Denali National Park. It is with gratitude that we are moving on to the next chapter and will no longer be operating North Face Lodge. Instead we are choosing to focus our energies more fully on sustainability and guest experience at our neighboring lodge, Camp Denali, beginning in 2021.

This bittersweet decision was made prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, and we were saddened to not be able to enjoy what was to be North Face Lodge’s last season this summer. It will not be sold and will remain in Cole/Hamm family ownership.

Our latest Ptarmigan Tracks newsletter details further thoughts and reflections on this decision. In the meantime, we are working hard on updating our website to reflect this change. If you have any questions, please feel free to give our office a call at 907-683-2290.
